Published May 14, 2019

With the 2019 Five Guys Games in progress, we're continuing to take a look back at 2017 to see how the competitors performed. For the latest on the 2019 Five Guys Games, please follow us at:https://twitter.com/FiveGuys_Crew

Five Guys team members take their jobs seriously, but they also know how to have fun with it. The Five Guys experience is all about making great food, and doing it with lots of energy and pride.

Hear it from the food service team members themselves, as they tell us about their experience at the Five Guys Games, a nationwide competition for our team members and their managers:

"When they called my name, and I knew I was gonna be in one of the top five, I was really happy and excited. The first person I called was my GM, and I wanted to let them know that I was one of the fastest 25 in the whole 30,000 employees at Five Guys. He was really excited for me."

- Abraham "The Egyptian Monster" Youssef from Nashville, TN

"My nickname is my gamertag in League of Legends, which I play often in my free time. When they called my name and I knew that I was a winner in the top five, I wanted to cry of happiness of relief. I was so excited. It meant a lot to me. I've been with Five Guys for about four years. So many important life skills. It taught me patience, great work ethic, how to work well with others, and just everything in between really."

- Michele Michele Benavidez from Las Vegas, NV

"I think to be a great leader, you have to work with the crew, motivate them - to not only work for you, but also love the customers as well. And you do that by showing them what you've brought to the table, working side-by-side with them, earning their respect, showing them how much you care for the customers, for the company - they'll follow you... To me, this proves that it's not all about the guys in this company. You know girls can do just as well. Even though it says Five Guys, us girls can keep up with them just as well. To my competitors, I'll see you next month. Don't underestimate me for my size, because I come fighting."

- Amber "AMBOT" Drake from San Jose, CA

"If I won the $50,000 I will start a college fund for my kids. I have two little girls, and you get a get out of debt a little bit"

- Chris "FLASH" Hale from Lodi, CA
