Summary:
The Workers’ Compensation Claims Assistant provides clerical and administrative support to the Workers’ Compensation Manager to facilitate timely and accurate management of claims, including return-to-work efforts, and payment of benefits in compliance with state law while providing excellent customer service for our employees.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Obtain, analyze, and evaluate statements from management, employees, and witnesses surrounding facts of the incidents which cause injuries.
• Administer claims to insurance carrier to determine overall liability exposure.
• Monitor the progression of claim until closure.
• Adhere to various jurisdictional laws and policies for each state.
• Respond to time sensitive e-mails and phone calls promptly.

Education/Experience:
• 1-2 years of claims experience or recent equivalent life experience considered
• 1-2+ years of related experience, hospitality/food beverage industry experience a plus
Language Ability:
Excellent verbal and written skills are necessary. The successful candidate/employee will be required to use written, verbal and group communication skills. The ability to read, write and comprehend complex instructions and correspondences is necessary. It also requires the ability to read, analyze, create and interpret general business memos and documents.
Math Ability:
This position requires excellent business math skills.
Reasoning Ability:
The position requires pragmatic analyzing skills and problem-solving abilities.
Computer Skills:
Exceptional computer skills required in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet, and other appropriate software.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position requires no supervisory responsibilities
Physical Demands:
This position may require long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The use of hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects is required. Travel will be required 10-20% of time.
